When I was around 15, I started going on long bike rides (50-60 miles) with my friends. After a short time, we did our first century (100 miles).

I was enchanted with a book by Diane Armstrong called "Bicycle Touring" and made it my goal to do an extended bike trip around the country someday. I have yet to see this day come along but I have still had some great experiences along the way.
